Coach Candy

Coach Candy is a driven and dynamic track and field coach whose journey is built on perseverance, passion, and purpose. From her very first stride, she discovered that the track was more than just a lane to run in — it was a path to growth, strength, and transformation.
Her story is one of resilience — a testament that setbacks are simply stepping stones, and that true greatness is achieved through consistency, character, and faith. Coach Candy believes success in track and field extends far beyond medals and records. To her, it’s about inspiring others to believe in their potential, to push beyond limits, and to recognize that every finish line marks a new beginning.
As the founder of Major Impact Track & Field, Coach Candy embodies leadership, empowerment, and excellence. Her mission is to cultivate a culture where athletes are not only trained to perform, but also encouraged to grow as confident, courageous, and purpose-driven individuals. Through her work, she motivates younger athletes and her community alike — proving that discipline, determination, and heart can create lasting impact both on and off the track.
Coach Candy began her athletic career as a standout at Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia, where she remains ranked on the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) All-Time Track and Field list. She went on to compete as a scholarship athlete at Arizona State University (ASU), earning All-American honors and maintaining a place on the Honors Dean’s List throughout her four years. In 2012, she competed in the 400m hurdles at the Jamaican Olympic Trials.  Coach Candy graduated from ASU with academic honors and a degree in Communications.


Beyond her own achievements, Coach Candy has helped numerous athletes earn athletic scholarships to Division I programs and various universities nationwide. Her legacy continues to grow through the lives she impacts and the doors she opens for others.


Driven by her belief that “success is not only in the done, but also in the doing,” Coach Candy continues to lead with purpose, pushing boundaries and empowering the next generation to go out and make a Major Impact.

Coach sam

Coach Sam Gary is the Founder and Director of Major Impact Track Club, an organization dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the track. With a deep passion for mentorship, discipline, and excellence, Coach Sam has built Major Impact into a program that emphasizes character, academics, and athletic performance.

Under her leadership, Major Impact Track Club has helped numerous athletes earn college scholarships, achieve personal bests, and develop life skills that extend far beyond competition. Her mission is to create meaningful opportunities for youth through sports—teaching the values of hard work, integrity, and consistency.

A former standout athlete herself, Coach Sam competed at the University of Tennessee and remains a Roswell High School record holder. She has transformed her competitive experience into a lifelong commitment to coaching and community service. Understanding the full journey from grassroots training to collegiate recruitment, Coach Sam uses her experience to guide athletes and families through every stage of the process.

Her dedication to making a “major impact” continues to inspire and empower the next generation of track and field talent.

Coach GAry

Coach Gary is a seasoned football coach, mentor, and former professional athlete whose passion for developing young talent has made a lasting impact on Georgia athletics. A native of Valdosta, Georgia and now based in Suwanee, Coach Gary’s journey from collegiate standout to professional player and respected coach reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence and leadership in sports.

Coach Gary began his football career at the University of Kentucky (UK), where he played as a defensive back for the Wildcats. Known for his discipline, speed, and leadership on the field, he earned a starting position in his later seasons, helping anchor Kentucky’s defense and contributing to the team’s competitive success in the SEC.

Following his college career, Coach Gary signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams of the NFL, gaining invaluable professional experience at the highest level of competition. He later continued his playing career with the Georgia Force in the Arena Football League (AFL), where he further honed his understanding of defensive schemes and team dynamics.

After retiring as a player, Coach Gary transitioned seamlessly into coaching and athlete development. He began as a defensive backs coach at North Gwinnett High School (2009–2010), where he quickly earned a reputation for his ability to motivate players and elevate defensive performance. His success led him to the professional ranks once again as defensive coordinator for the Georgia Force (2010–2011), and later to the collegiate level as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Clark Atlanta University (2012–2015).

From 2015 to 2021,  served as head football coach at Berkmar High. Coach Willie School in Lilburn, Georgia, leading the program with integrity, discipline, and a focus on character development. His leadership extended beyond the field, inspiring student-athletes to excel academically and in life.

In addition to coaching, Coach Gary is the co-owner of Major Impact Sports, a Suwanee-based athletic training and development company specializing in speed, agility, and track & field performance. Through Major Impact Sports, he continues to mentor young athletes, preparing them for competition at the national and international levels.

With a career that has spanned high school, college, professional play, and coaching, Coach Gary exemplifies perseverance, leadership, and the drive to help others succeed—both on and off the field.

Coach V.

Hailing from Kansas City, Coach V brings over 20 years of experience as a Track & Field athlete and coach. A proud graduate of the University of Kansas, Coach V excelled as a sprinter and jumper, leaving a lasting mark on the Jayhawk program. During a standout collegiate career, Coach V earned All-Big 12 honors, became a national qualifier, broke the 200m indoor record, and secured a spot among the all-time top performers in KU history. 

Coach V was also the KU Relays 100m champion, continuing a legacy of excellence that began in high school. As a prep athlete, Coach V was a state champion in the 100 meters, a five-event school record holder, and a four-time Eastern Kansas League champion. 

Professionally, Coach V trained under the Nike program led by Coach Albert Hobson of Hobson’s Choice, further refining elite-level techniques and competitive insight. Today, Coach V shares that passion and expertise with the next generation of athletes, specializing in sprints and jumps, and inspiring others to pursue excellence both on and off the track.

Coach RJ

 Coach RJ (Randy James) began his track and field coaching journey over 20 years ago, working with elementary and middle school athletes in the Dallas area. He joined Major Impact more than four years ago and currently volunteers as a coach for sprints, hurdles, jumps, and multi-event athletes.
Coach RJ’s philosophy is deeply rooted in the scientific method, and his methodology focuses on developing event-specific biomechanical models for each athlete and training to optimize performance within that model. He has learned from some of the sport’s most respected mentors, including coaches Dan Pfaff, Boo Schexnayder, Randy Huntington, Stuart McMillan, and Andreas Behm, as well as biomechanists Ken Clark, Peter Weyand, and Ralph Mann (RIP.)
During his time with Major Impact, Coach RJ has had the privilege of guiding many young athletes through age-appropriate training while fostering their growth and love for track and field. Additionally, he has contributed to the development of numerous All-American high school athletes across sprints, hurdles, long jump, high jump, and multi-events.
